2003-02-28 - 12:20 p.m. My car wash has the best signs. There are a whole series of them leading up to the place where the guys scrub your tires and into the actual wash itself. My favorite is, "When you look good, you feel good." I keep mumbling that under my breath for absolutely no reason at all and I find myself repeating it to people at parties. I drag out the "look" and "feel" just to emphasize those points. When anyone asks me where I came up with that brilliant insight, I say "Dr. Phil" instead of "the Scrub-A-Dub on American Legion Highway." I took the whole thing too far though when I got my hair cut last night. My stylist asked me why I decided to color my hair on my own rather than call her. I looked at her reflection in the mirror and said, "You know Mary. When you look good, you feel good." Mary asked me if I might be interested in "buying some product." I walked home with a $19 bottle of hairspray. And I feel pretty good. Plus. Plus I feel pretty good because I heard back from the publisher today. She loved the book. She wants to publish it. Guess what? I'm gonna have a Library of Congress Number. I'm gonna be an author. *big-assed grin*
